When you have fallen in love with the rhythms
And teaching has become a calling
I invite you to join me.

I invite you to join me.

Gabrielle Roth 5Rhythms Teacher Training
Thanks for your interest in the Teacher Training.
We recently completed the 2010-11 training group. Eighty passionate new 5Rhythms teachers finished this last training and have now been launched to teach the practice on 5 continents.
We have learned many things in the years we’ve offered this training. We’ve learned that we must allow enough time (about 3 years) between training cycles for the next wave of potential teachers to prepare without rushing, to allow for savoring and integrating a deepening practice over time.
We’ve learned that admitting people into the training without all their pre-requisites creates enormous stress as they work double-time finishing workshops and attending training in the same year.
While the dates of the next training have not been set, we’d love to get to know you just a bit, and assess where the next group of teachers are both geographically, and in their 5Rhythms practice.
We invite you to send us a Letter of Interest (instructions below). This will allow you to introduce yourself briefly before going through the significant time and expense of preparing a full application packet and DVD. It also helps us to begin our relationship early in your work towards becoming a teacher.
So we invite you to take Step 1 of the two-step process. Once we’ve assessed the field, we will schedule the next training program.
STEP 1.
Letter of Interest
(see below)
STEP 2.
Full Application Packet (available in 2012), including extensive writing, teacher references, DVD
This packet will contain pre-requisites, training dates and locations, costs, etc.
As you dance along the path to becoming a 5Rhythms teacher, we strongly encourage you to take every possible opportunity to study with the Core Teaching Faculty: Gabrielle, Kathy Altman, Jonathan Horan, Lori Saltzman and Andrea Juhan. This helps us become familiar with your practice, and also enables you to experience the work through teachers who have been embodying this work for 30-50 years each.

Before you fill out this Letter of Interest, please ask yourself:
Is this training for me? This is the first and most important question to ask yourself. This program is for experienced students of the 5Rhythms who have invested time and energy in a deep exploration of the Rhythms, as well as Gabrielle’s other maps, over an extended period of time. It’s for people who understand, from their own intimate experience, how the Rhythms are a vehicle for self-healing; for people who live the Rhythms as a spiritual practice and have used them to awaken themselves again and again.
Teaching this work is a path of mastery (the ability to physically embody the 5Rhythms), integrity (proper training and preparation to facilitate this healing practice) and humility (knowing that teaching is but a lifetime commitment to being a student).
This training requires a deep surrender: you may complete all the prerequisites, but not be ready for the training. You might complete the training, but not be ready to teach just yet. By the end of the training, you will have been seen in a very deliberate and personal way, and given specific feedback to further develop your readiness, skills and talents. Once you take the tools from this training – offer them, practice them, live them, embody them – you begin the path toward becoming a teacher.
What is my current work in the world and how can the Rhythms become part of my service?
This is the second question to ask of yourself. Not everyone is destined for a life of teaching classes and workshops. The heart of the 5Rhythms work is service, and to that end we are encouraging people to take the training to incorporate the Rhythms into their existing occupation, such as work in a home for seniors, or a career as a school teacher. Gabrielle has recently established a non-profit corporation, 5Rhythms Reach Out, to bring our practice to people who are unlikely or unable to attend workshop: elders, inner city children, the disabled or disadvantaged, etc.
This is the growing edge of our practice across the globe – reaching out to bring this healing work wherever it is needed. To this end, an integral part of your training year will be community service assignments – serving an elder, teaching the 5Rhythms for a non-profit group, working with teenagers, etc.
Once you have completed the training and have been authorized to start offering the practice back in your community, you become eligible to join The 5Rhythms Teachers’ Association, a professional organization that provides continuing education and teacher gatherings, links to all 5Rhythms teachers around the world, marketing of your events on Gabrielle’s global website, discounts on workshops, and other support for your teaching practice.
This training will be a profound initiation in preparation to lead people in the 5Rhythm practice. It's an intensive, year-long process that includes training modules with Gabrielle and faculty, as well as interim projects and community service.
