The Moving Center staff teach regularly-scheduled workshops, retreats and ongoing groups throughout the world. Contact us to have events brought to your community, worksite or special interest group.
Kathy Altman
While highly trained in many forms of dance, it wasn't until Kathy's catalytic meeting with Gabrielle 30 years ago that her true calling found her. As Co-Director of The Moving Center School, Kathy was the first person asked to help Gabrielle bring her work out into the world. Over the past 20 years Kathy's teaching has brought thousands of people back to the joy of their own, original movement.

Andrea Juhan, PhD has worked, practiced, and led others in the fields of bodywork, psychotherapy, and movement since 1981.
She was a founding faculty member of the Moving Center School, California, a 5Rhythms organization which she co-directed for fourteen years. Andrea had the good fortune spend her late teens and 20's leading groups, teaching movement, studying Gestalt Awareness Practice, and practicing bodywork at Esalen Institute. It was at Esalen that she first met Gabrielle Roth and fell in love with the 5Rhythms 30 years ago.
Jonathan Horan
Sylvie Minot
She has also studied with Shakti Gawain, Angeles Arrien and various other teachers in different aspects of healing. Through working with a variety of modalities incorporating spirit, mind, and body, she is dedicated to the transformation of one's life and living one's passion.
Claire Grace Alexander
Claire began practicing the 5Rhythms® in 1991. The profound changes she experienced ignited a passion for sharing this work with others. Claire is adept at creating sacred space where dancers are invited to discover and express themselves with authenticity. Her open, intuitive teaching style encourages students to deeply engage with the transformative nature of this practice, while her gentle humor helps keep it all moving.
Davida Taurek
Davida Taurek has a diverse background in body-centered therapies, including six years as massage therapist. A protégé of Gabrielle Roth, she spent 10 years leading dance therapy workshops throughout the U.S., Canada and Costa Rica. Currently, she teaches ongoing classes at Forrest Yoga Circle and is well known for her many years as a professional Doula (personal coach for pregnant and birthing mothers.) In 1999 she received her Watsu/Waterdance diploma from The Watsu Center in northern California. In 2003, Davida became a certified Watsu instructor.
Gary Beauregard
Gary is a long-term student and teacher of the 5Rhythms. In 1999 he started our first Sweat Your Prayers session with 11 students (mostly friends!). Through Gary’s enduring passion for the practice and his extraordinary DJ skills, our Sunday sessions have become both a local and international destination for hundreds of people to come and sweat their prayers.
Jonathan King
When I came to the 5Rhythms in 1992, it was like turning on the colour and sound in my life. I've been addicted to dancing ever since -- I hope I never recover. It's been a continuous source of learning and inspiration thorugh the quirkiy mix of my life -- I'm also a physicist, artist, wannabe guitarist, poet, and practising human being. I started teaching in 2008; my greatest desire is to support more movement, more presence, more understanding and compassion in the world -- one dancer at a time.
Margaret Price
Born in Louisiana, Margaret grew up in a culture that's alive with passion and movement. For the past 9 years Margaret has turned her full devotion to the study of the 5Rhythms, knowing in her heart how this moving meditation has the power to transform. She brings a wealth of dance and performance experience to her teaching, and has worked extensively assisting Gabrielle and the senior faculty of The Moving Center School to bring the 5Rhythms all over the world. She's taught 5Rhythms classes at the Omega Institute in New York, and throughout the Bay Area.
Vic Cooper
I have been a student of expressive dance and movement since 1981 and a 5Rhythms teacher since 2005. I enjoy traveling with my wife, Andrea Juhan, assisting and supporting with her many 5Rhythms workshops and programs. This work has taught me how to be of service and support others as they explore and practice the 5Rhythms. I live in Big Sur, CA and occasionally lead local classes and Men’s Sweat Your Prayers.
