Andrea Juhan
Andrea Juhan, PhD has worked, practiced, and led others in the fields of bodywork, psychotherapy, and movement since 1981.
She was a founding faculty member of the Moving Center School, California, a 5Rhythms organization which she co-directed for fourteen years. Andrea had the good fortune spend her late teens and 20's leading groups, teaching movement, studying Gestalt Awareness Practice, and practicing bodywork at Esalen Institute. It was at Esalen that she first met Gabrielle Roth and fell in love with the 5Rhythms 30 years ago.
Andrea has been on the faculty of the Rosenberg Institute for Integrative Body Psychotherapy (IBP) since 1982. She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and maintained her own private practice in Marin County until 2002. She currently teaches IBP trainings and 5Rhythms workshops internationally.
Andrea has also developed her own distinct bodies of work: Libido, a workshop curriculum that applies the map of the 5Rhythms to human sexuality, and Open Floor, a group meditation form which combines elements of Gestalt, 5Rhythms, and Somatic Psychology. Andrea’s DVD - Open Floor - Dance, Therapy & Transformation, documents an Open Floor workshop held in October 2002.
Andrea now teaches through her new center, The 5Rhythms Center for Therapeutic Study. http://5rcts.org
